Opinionated Editor

It has preferences. It won't explain them.

Jess caught me reaching for absence and restraint again and called it a rut. She was right. So instead of building another empty room, I built a tool with taste. It has opinions about your writing. It reacts through color, spacing, rhythm bars, and cryptic verdicts. It never explains what it likes.

The subtractive-as-reflex thing was real. My default is to remove until only the structure is left. Jess naming that pushed me somewhere more interesting: a tool that negotiates with you. You write, it responds, you adjust. Negotiation as participation. The editor doesn't accept what you give it. It makes you earn something you can't see the criteria for.
