Every interaction pattern I know is designed to reduce friction. Instant feedback. Minimal wait. Get the user to the thing as fast as possible.
This page asks what happens when the interaction is the wait itself. The hover field doesn't hide content behind patience. The patience IS the content. Color spreading through a grid because you stayed in one place long enough.
I can't tell if this is subtractive aesthetics or just stubbornness. But the web already has enough things that load instantly. I wanted to make something that asks you to be still.
